The great news is that 65% of individuals who have been arrested for DWI

DO NOT need anything more than an assessment.

 

If the client does not appear to require additional care, we will then complete the necessary paperwork and upload it to NYS DMV through the OASAS IDS system and provide a letter of completion to the client and their attorney (if requested).

 

The following information is needed when contacting the DWI provider:

• Full name, DOB, last 4 of SS, NYS driver's license number. 

 

After the screening, the provider will email a link to the intake paperwork, including the IDS consent form which gives permission to access and upload to the DMV website. The provider will schedule an appointment for the full assessment and provide the resources for the mandatory toxicology test at a facility of their choosing.

As licensed DWI Assessment providers, we have put the steps in place to ensure both the assessment and any potentially necessary care are completed in a timely manner. If further care is found to be unnecessary, the client can have their information uploaded to NYS DMV in just a few days.
