DWI ASSESSMENTS AND TREATMENT
NYS DMV and OASAS Approved Providers

-
Have you been charged with a DWI in NY?
-
Is the court requiring an assessment in order to get your license back?
-
Are you considering having an assessment prior to your court appearance?
-
Did your lawyer suggest getting an assessment to determine if you need treatment before your court date?
-
Has your car been seized due to DWI/DUI?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, we encourage you to set up a screening today.
During the screening and assessment you will be asked questions about the incident, history of drinking and substance use, family and work issues, and any relevant medical and legal history.

The information collected during the assessment will determine if the client reports or demonstrates the misuse of alcohol or other substances and whether the client or community is at risk of a repeat offense. If it is determined that the client may be at risk, then they will be referred to the appropriate level of treatment.
The great news is that 65% of individuals who have been arrested for DWI
DO NOT need treatment, just an assessment.
If the client does not appear to require additional treatment, we will then complete the necessary paperwork and upload it to NYS DMV through the OASAS IDS system and provide a letter of completion to the client and their attorney (if requested).
The following information is needed when contacting the DWI provider:
-
Full name, DOB, last 4 of SS, NYS driver's license number.
After the screening, the provider will email a link to the intake paperwork, including the IDS consent form which gives permission to access and upload to the DMV website. The provider will schedule an appointment for the full assessment and provide the resources for the mandatory toxicology test at a facility of their choosing.

As licensed DWI Assessment providers, we have put the steps in place to ensure both the assessment and any potentially necessary treatment are completed in a timely manner. If treatment is found to be unnecessary, the client can have their information uploaded to NYS DMV in just a few days.
All assessments and recommendations are confidential.
